Mt Albert Celebrated its 150th Anniversary in August 2016
The Mt Albert Methodist Congregation has a rich history in the Wesleyan Liberal Tradition. Today we align with the Progressive Theological movement which continues to embrace social justice, community wellbeing, pastoral care, liturgical focused worship and ecumenical community partnerships.
We have a strong musical tradition that is known throughout Methodism in New Zealand. The Choir which has been going 150 years welcomes all ages, and is a feature of our Church and participates in our weekly services of worship throughout the year.
The Choir rehearses every Wednesday evening and presents quality recitals and lead music at Sunday Services.
Our Samoan Choir participates in the Service of Holy Communion on the first Sunday of the month. We also have an ensemble of young musicians.
The Mt Albert Community Club
The club was initiated 25 year ago by the congregation to host people from the wider community who have Mental Health Concerns in their life. It operates 3 days a week.
BAMA – Beneficiaries Advice Mt Albert
This is a community project initiated by Mt Albert Methodist and St Lukes Anglican and provides a free advocacy service to beneficiaries.
We have a children’s programme on Sundays, a weekly indoor bowls group, English Language classes for new migrants…
